She is a dual licensed teacher in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education. Rachel has worked as an Early Intervention Teacher since 2015, providing services to neurodiverse children and their families. She became a certified PLAY Project Consultant in early 2025.

Rachel provides play-based, child-led interventions in your family’s home. She believes each child has their own set of strengths and interests that can be built on to help them reach their full potential. Through implementation of the PLAY Project, Rachel works to empower caregivers to be fun and engaging play partners for their child thereby supporting their child’s growth and development.

Key Components of Becoming PlayFull's Model

Interventions Take Place In Your Home

Parent Coaching Empowers You to Be Your Child's Best Teacher

By working in your child’s natural environment, we reduce stress and make learning feel safe and familiar. Home visits help children practice new skills in everyday routines, using materials and spaces they already know and love. This makes learning more meaningful and effective - especially for young children with developmental or learning differences. By starting where they’re most comfortable, we eliminate an extra step in the learning process and help your child get the most out of early intervention.

Parent coaching is about empowering you - not replacing you. During home visits, we will observe how you and your child interact, guide you in reflecting on what’s working, and help you adjust strategies to fit your routines. You’ll practice new approaches with your child, receive feedback and support, and sometimes watch a strategy modeled before trying it yourself. Monthly video feedback provides additional opportunities for practice. Coaching is also a cost-effective model - you will be able to apply learning and make everyday moments into meaningful opportunities for growth.

Interventions Are Fun and Relationship Based

Your Time and Effort Will Lead To Meaningful Progress For Your Child

Play is at the heart of how children learn, grow, and connect—and that’s why it’s central to our approach. Through child-led play-based therapy, we follow each child’s interests to create engaging, joyful experiences that support development at their own pace. Play is a natural and powerful tool that helps foster meaningful relationships and emotional growth. As we play together, children discover that social connection is rewarding, which encourages them to take on new challenges and engage more fully with others. By creating a safe, trusting space rooted in fun and connection, we help children develop not only skills, but confidence and joy.

The PLAY Project model emphasizes the importance of frequent, intentional play to support a child’s development. In addition to our monthly visit(s), it is recommended that families commit to 15 to 20 hours of purposeful play each week for optimal results. This time is often built naturally into daily routines through short, focused play sessions throughout the day. We provide a detailed formal report outlining your child’s current developmental levels, sensory-motor profile, preferred activities, and a personalized intervention plan with recommended techniques and strategies. This report, combined with parent coaching, empowers families to implement play-based strategies at home allowing for consistent, meaningful progress that fits into everyday life.
